Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at  danvillesmiles24@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

At a dental check-up you can expect to update a health history in the beginning. Any recommended x-rays will be taken to evaluate your dental health. If you are scheduled for a teeth cleaning, a dental hygienist will clean your teeth, review hygiene habits, and review at home care. The dentist will come in for an exam and evaluate any treatment needed. You should leave your appointment understanding any treatment discussed and what the cost may be.

You are not alone! Whether it’s been 6 months or 6 years, it’s never too late to get back into the routine. Professional cleanings conducted every six months are important for overall dental health—even for those who brush their teeth thoroughly twice a day and floss regularly. The hygienist can remove built-up plaque and tartar in hard to reach spaces that even brushing and flossing can miss. That means regular cleanings help prevent cavities and the onset of gum disease.

Also, professionally cleaned teeth feel great, look better, and leave you with the satisfaction that you’ve done a good deed not only for your teeth but also for your overall health.

Having dental insurance can help make accessing routine dental care more affordable and accessible to you and your family.  Most dental plans include coverage for preventive care like routine exams, cleanings and X-rays. Some plans require a copay for preventive services, while others cover those services 100%. Many dental plans also include coverage for basic services like fillings and extractions, and major services like root canals, crowns and more.  Most dental insurance plans operate on a yearly cycle. At the end of December, any unused benefits typically expire, and they do not roll over into the new year.

Every insurance plan is different.  It is important to contact your insurance company for a breakdown of benefits your plan provides.

We are In-Network providers with Aetna, Cigna, Delta Dental Premier, and GEHA.

If your insurance company is not listed above- don't worry! We accept a long list of Out-of-Network insurance companies at our office. Being Out-of-Network means your insurance plan may pay a part of your bill, and may cover a smaller percentage then those in network. You can call the number on your insurance card to verify out of network coverage for your specific plan.

We accept cash, personal checks, and major credit cards. For added flexibility, we also offer interest-free financing through CareCredit.  Through CareCredit, eligible patients can spread the cost of treatment over 6 to 12 months with no interest. Applications are quick, and most patients receive an approval decision within minutes.

Absolutely. Many patients use CareCredit to cover costs not included in their insurance plan, such as cosmetic treatments or out-of-pocket expenses. It’s a convenient way to manage your dental care budget on your terms.
